Dr. James Davis is an accomplished software developer, data scientist, entrepreneur, combat veteran, and professor. He holds a PhD in Information Systems & Decision Science from Louisiana State University and is certified in project management with credentials including Project Management Professional (PMP), SAFe Practice Consultant (SPC), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), and Scrum Master (CSM).
As a retired lieutenant colonel, Dr. Davis served with distinction in both the active Army and Army Reserve, with combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. His military career is marked by leadership roles, including command positions at the company and battalion levels, and he is a decorated recipient of the Bronze Star and Meritorious Service Medals.
An avid entrepreneur, Dr. Davis has served as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) in multiple startup ventures. His passion for coding is matched by his commitment to the tech community, regularly participating in hackathons and volunteering with STEM initiatives. His entrepreneurial achievements have earned him recognition on the SiliconBayou100 (2014, 2015, & 2016), Business Report’s “People to Watch” (2021), and LSU100 (2024).
Dr. Davis’ academic background also includes: an MS in Computer Science, a BS in Mathematics, and graduate certificates in Blockchain Applications from Duke University and Entrepreneurship from Babson College. His expertise in project management is reinforced by his active involvement in the Project Management Institute (PMI), Scrum Alliance, and Scaled Agile, where he has delivered numerous presentations.
